Fire-roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine with drifting smoke, on dark slate

Umbra Table

Food photography by Tim Mullin

Light, shadow and appetite.

What I Shoot

Restaurants & Menus

Dishes photographed the way they deserve to be seen — for menus, websites and social media.

Brands & Producers

Product and packaging imagery for food and beverage makers, from small-batch to shelf-ready.

Food as Art

Splash, motion and still-life studies — decor-ready images where food is the subject, not the product.

How It Works

1

We talk.

A short conversation about what you're planning: the dishes or products, where we'd shoot, and how the images will be used.

2

We shoot.

For restaurants, I come to you — dishes photographed on location as they come out of the kitchen. Your chef's plating, shown at its best. For products, ship or drop them off: I shoot in my studio and you review previews from your desk.

3

You get the files.

Web- and print-ready images, sized for menus, websites, delivery apps and social. Licensing spelled out plainly — no surprises.

Sessions run as half days, full days, or single-dish and single-product shoots. Every project is quoted individually — tell me what you're planning and I'll put a number on it.

About

Umbra Table is the food photography studio of Tim Mullin, based in the Kitchener–Waterloo area of Ontario. Umbra is the deepest part of a shadow — the work here lives where light meets dark: smoke over roasted tomatoes, a splash frozen mid-air, a table set for the eye.
